Co-Op Wearing Apparel

In Guatemala, the women's co-operative movement has grown in leaps and bounds. Using time-honored methods passed down through the generations, centered around the use of the backstrap loom, Mayan women in the Guatemalan Highlands continue to produce the exquisite weavings known the world over.

These lovely premium grade all cotton, silky-to-the-touch fashion items are the work of weavers at co-operatives in the lakeside village of San Juan La Laguna and the mountain village of Chajul.
